The FRANK & WALTERS : Souvenirs Souvenirs...

Une info d'importance (du moins, pour moi) apprise grâce à Benjamin du webzine A Découvrir Absolument : la sortie ce mois-ci d'une double-compilation des Frank & Walters, intitulée [Souvenirs] (Irish Release 7/10/05-UK Release 24/10/05). Le double-album répond à la demande des fans et comprend 24 titres + 2 vidéos avec des B-Sides, des covers (Cemetry Gates présent sur la compil' des Inrocks [The Smiths is Dead]), des remixes (Kevin Shields, comme d'hab'), des versions alternatives acoustiques, etc : le tracklisting complet sur leur nouveau site officiel thefrankandwalters.ie (ie pour Irlande)...je dois en avoir déjà la moitié mais bon, y'a quand même de nouvelles chansons... La sortie a été précédée d'un EP en septembre [You asked me] Radio Edit : là encore, rien de bien nouveau sur le soleil avec How can I exist déja connnu et Pathways. Pourquoi avoir choisi You asked me qui sonne un peu pitoyable en show télé au Tubridy Tonight Show, j'en sais rien...La seule vraie grande nouvelle, c'est la présence de vidéos téléchargeables des Frank & Walters sur le site non officiel frankandwalters.net : là si vous êtes fans, ça peut vous intéresser. 2 shows donnés récemment pour leur promotion en Irlande et des lives de 1991 et 1993 à Camden Palace et Birmingham, l'époque soit-disant bénie des Frank&Walters (ben finalement, c'était p'têt pas si mieux avant, ça a très mal vieilli : les coupes au bol, les mecs qui viennent à un concert des F&W pour se défouler et pogoter sur scène, le son pourri, etc : dire que j'ai fait partie de ces mecs-là...).

Voilà c'est tout ce que je pouvais dire conçernant ce nouvel album qui n'est pas vraiment nouveau : je vous laisse avec cette interview + clip Colours + live acoustique After all des Frank & Walters reçus récemment au Dave Fanning's last broadcast : c'est la vidéo la + intéressante que j'ai trouvé. L'interview est passionnante, libre, décontractée, chaleureuse, drôle...

If you think of all...one of the things about the F&W they have never died, even if a lot of people think they went away, it's because the classic singles, this huge point
six or seven has to go down???, in sort of irsih ??? rock history, as great as anything else, anybody else, can I think. Is that the way you saw, that the singles that were always played, that were always on compilations, are always there...??? Frank & Walters has never went away.

Ashley Keating : we're no good at anything else, we're kind of unemployed, in a sense, you know (et l'autre il s'marre : "ouais on a faillis devenir clochards, on est au chômage, d'une certaine façon", et l'autre il s'marre)
I gave ??? for two months but I was hopeless, so I got really bad eyes, so I was like stucked up to the computer and then someone suggested I get glasses, but then,  you know pop stars don't wear glasses, I couldn't do that, so I'd go back into the music $$$$$

Paul Linehan : - To be honest, which it was just a way it was, I mean, when Suede and Radiohead supported us, to be honest, we didn't think too much about, like PJ Harvey supported us, we didn't think too much of ???, you know what I mean? $$$$$$

Paul Linehan (Oh NAAAN! pas cette question à la con! tous les journalistes la posent : Top of the Pops, couv' NME et gna gna gna...putain ça fait 13 ans mec! on a quand même fait d'autres choses entre-temps! bon j'vais lui répondre de manière détournée par une anecdote perso...il y verra qu'du feu et il m'lâchera les baskets : de toute façon, il est bourré) : $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ Aeuhm...I thought it was fantastic...it was like...I remember when I was younger I actually...I was trying to get back to see Top of the Pops...I was rushing home from the shop??? on my bike I was upping up a hill because I used to love Top of the Pops and I think that was around Nineteen sixty-two or something (1962!! $$$$) I was psyching up the hill coming home from the shop and I thought like that ?? I get more quicker
as I kept my head down (roulait comme un taré la tête baissée sur son guidon pour rentrer + vite à la maison regarder Top of the Pops) there was actually a car parked on the hill, so I actually ended...I actually smashed to the back screen of the car...inside with the driver...and I think he was in affair with some girl at the time
thats' so much Top of the Pops mean to me, you know what I mean? I actually lost my two front teeth for Top of the Pops $$$$$$$$$$$$$$
