Newell is your man

Martin Newell, the UK's most published poet who crashed onto the music scene in the early 90s, has struck again.

His new CD, Radio Autumn Attic, is a prime example of his electrifying performance, cynicism and perfect pop.

It includes an excerpt from his new book This Little Ziggy and intriguing song titles such as The Beer Elves and A Woman and Some Whisky.

Full of strange subject matter, this is satisfaction guaranteed for Newell fans.

One such fan is Andy Partridge of former Swindon music sensation, XTC, who has worked with Newell.

Newell made his name as something of an antidote to what he refers to as "the well-serious brigade", performing rude rock-culture poems at breakneck speed.

Q Magazine described Radio Autumn Attic as "pithy and witty".
